Definition: unconscious exclusion of a reality outside of the field of consciousness. Denial / Exclude unconsciously field of consciousness
From Greek skotôma was expertly trained scotomization (n.) term due to Laforgue and Pichon (1926), to translate from German Verleugnung " denial "Freud. This word is said of psychoanalysis and selective rejection unconscious, outside the field of consciousness, a perception of a painful reality for the subject. Thence scotomize ( v.tr) (1930).
